Canada’s Top Model: Daria Werbowy

Daria Werbowy is one of the biggest names in the fashion and model industry today. Her name will be added to Canada’s Walk of Fame come September. Daria is the second model to ever be honoured and she “holds the record for opening and closing the most shows in one season.” Daria is representing Canada across the globe and doing us proud!

Daria was born in Poland but moved to Mississauga, Ontario at the age of three. At just fourteen years old, she was standing tall at 5′11” (at fourteen I was 4′11). Daria confessed to Fashion Magazine that she’s had mixed feelings about her job as a model - “A lot of the time, I feel like I’m part of the problem when it comes to all the superficiality and vanity that impacts that way girls grow up.” And while other models may be partying and boozing, Daria has used her celebrity status to help fund for a non-profit arts center that focuses on at-risk youth. Proceeds from her Lancome - Brazilian Earth Colours makeup collection will go to the Centro Espacial Vik Muniz in Rio de Janeiro.
