Square One and Lou Lou Magazine presented Be The One: A Celebration of Personal Style fashion show on September 18, 19, 20 and 21th at Square One’s center court. The fashion show consisted of clothing and accessories from participating Square One stores, showcasing the latest trends and celebrating style (like we do at Toronto Styles!).

Each ticket was $10 and it went to The Credit Valley Hospital to help fund for a new diagnostic assessment unit. This new area will help patients with suspected breast, lung or colon cancer. At the moment, the assessment program runs half a day per week for patients with suspected cancer. This event has been made in hopes of increasing the services to five days per week – “three of which is devoted to breast cancer patients and two days to assess possible colorectal and lung cancers.”

This is a great event because you’ll never know who and when someone you know, or even yourself, will need this service. It’s better to diagnose it early and start fighting than to wait in line for a couple months just to find out if you have it or not. Time is everything.

There were eight styles in the show: rock it, folklore (bohemian), menswear influence, tartan & plaid, streetwear, classics, suit it up and glam. The show was made up of 47 outfits.

The event was also to honour “Canadian women in television who are ‘trendsetters’ with a Square One Media Style Searovski Award.”L-R: Dina Pugliese (co-host of Breakfast Television), Jully Black (singer/eTalk reporter) and Bina Pandya (host of One on One on Rogers TV)
