Mike Mendes of Love Everyday: Clothing for a Cause & New Threat Apparel

I’m apart of the entrepreneur club at my school and we’re always hosting guest speakers to help future entrepreneurs start up their dreams. Mike Mendes will be our next featured speaker and personally, I think he’s going to hit home with a lot of our attendees. He’s young, passionate, talented and successful with a huge heart that will be bringing inspiration to McMaster University on Tuesday November 25, 2008.

How many times have we passed homeless people and just dropped some spare change - if any, in their hats or Tim Horton’s coffee cups? Mike Mendes took it three steps further and launched a clothing line where all the proceeds from t-shirt purchases goes towards helping the homeless and people in need.

Mike formed New Threat Apparel and a non-profit label, Love Everyday: Clothing for a Cause. Its purpose is to “increase awareness about poverty and under privileged people in our communities. Our message is that all of us are truly blessed with great people and opportunities in our lives, but so few of us are actually aware.”

There are currently five different designs for Love Everyday t-shirts (printed on American Apparel shirts) and are $20 bucks each. Why not support a great cause and get a nice looking t-shirt in return? Remember, the whole $20 goes towards helping the homeless!

Shirts can be ordered online and are available at Adrenaline Tattoos on 239 Queen Street West (around Much Music).

“It’s not just about showing off clothes, it’s about showing off a statement.”
- Mike Mendes
