L’Oreal Paris Double Extension Beauty Tube Mascara

The great people over at Matchstick and L’Oreal sent us a L’Oreal Paris kit filled with the new Double Extension Beauty Tubes Mascara x2, two Infinite Quads Eye Shadow – Smokey Eyes 904, a Liquid Lineur Intense Eyeliner and a travel brush set. Makeup is part of my daily routine and I look forward to testing out these products! Since there are doubles, D will also be giving her two cents about these items.

First up, the Double Extension Beauty Tubes Mascara.
It claims that this new lash extension effect mascara visibly lengthens your lashes up to an astonishing 80%. In a nutshell, the first white coat contains Ceramide R and D-Panthenol which strengthens the lashes and the second black coat lengthens the lashes.
Judge for yourself:

The mascara added thickness and fullness to my eyelashes, giving them a slightly longer appearance. However, I don’t believe it has made a dramatic difference for my eyelashes. I’ve applied multiple layers (which may explain the clumping) in order to see how well-rounded this mascara truly is. I wore it out all day and it survived the winter frisk without smudging (+ bonus points). I also rubbed my eyes and it did not come off on my finger or leave smudge marks around my eyes. I, then, splashed water on my eyes and it did not leak or come off. But, the lashes do clump together and I didn’t touch them in fear that it may come off, which is very likely as it only needs warm water to come off.
In order to take the mascara off, splash warm water and simply pinch your eyelashes and gently pull the “mascara” off your lashes. Personally, that is pretty easy and simple. There is no more need for cotton balls or makeup remover because it won’t easier come off with the makeup remover (for me, anyway). There is also no smudging during the removal process.
*DUE TO A READER’S REQUEST, I WILL TRY THE MASCARA WITHOUT THE PRIMER AND COMPARE THE DIFFERENCES*

Top to Bottom: No mascara, only black coat, and both primer and black coat
This time around, I didn’t put on as many layers as I did with the picture before the cut. I find that the primer gives my lashes an extra boost and I’m no scientist or cosmetic expert but it’s probably because the black coating is sticking onto the primer, and not my lashes, thus, giving it a thicker appearance. I know, I’m Captain Obvious. Clumping starts to occur because of the multiple coats.
I also tried to curl my lashes with the mascara on and it does not work well together. This is what happened:

Usually people don’t wear mascara and curl their lashes, but I sometimes do and it works. When I tried curling my lashes with the L’Oreal Double Extension mascara on, the curler pushes the mascara.
To summarize it up:
Pros:
1. makes your eyelashes full and may appear longer
2. does not smudge
3. easily washes off without any smudges (with water)
Cons:
1. multiple black coats to cover the white layer
2. coat may turn gray from the black and white mixture
3. can not curl eyelashes
50/50
1. slight clumping – but may be from multiple coats
Overall, I give the L’Oreal Paris Double Extension Beauty Tube Mascara a 7/10.
My main priority is non-smudge mascara and this has not let me down. It is super easy to take off and does not require makeup remover to do so. However, it does take longer than other mascaras to put on since it requires two separate coats and I need to make sure there are no missed white spots on my eyelashes. The result of multiple layers may lead to clumping [spider] eyelashes.

Curling your eyelashes after the application of mascara is a definite no no! It’ll break and split your lashes!
BTW I had no idea your eyelashes were SOO long, you totally dont need false ones!

I am disappointed with this product not only is it expensive it does clump and stick together. I have bought the mascara only to find that it seems to dry out quickly and end up with an odor to it. I am going to try another product
