FAB Friday: White Cashmere Dress by Thien Le

Other than fabric, what other materials would you use to make a dress that would simply jaw drop your audience? We saw this season’s Project Runway Canada contestants make dresses out of Post-It’s in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Well the dress above and seven other dresses were also made in support of the same foundation; to raise awareness and find a cure for breast cancer.
The material?
100% Cashmere Bathroom Tissue.
Back in September (a bit late, I know), eight Canadian designers showcased their dresses at the 5th Annual White Cashmere Collection: A Touch of Pink. The dresses featured the limited-edition pink toilet paper, where twenty-five cents from each purchase would go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
This dress by Thien Le is freakin’ a-m-a-z-i-n-g and to think that one splash of water can destroy its beauty. Personally, I gather some Japanese inspiration just by looking at it; the hair, the volumized dress, the pinkness of cherry blossoms and the technicality of origami. I love every detail of this dress - this look, and would be satisfied with just a large poster of this picture. Because according to my family, I break everything I touch so keep this beauty far far away from me!

How did they keep it together? Tape? Pins? Paper mache? And what happens when the nervous/anxious/excited bride sweats? LOL.
I’m just kidding. It’s a pretty dress designed for an excellent cause. *thumbs up*
