Jessica of Wild Tortoise

This week’s Bloggers with Style is Jessica of Wild Tortoise.
Jessica is a Commerce student at Queen’s University and has the same dream as the majority of us – to become rich so we can shop until our asses drop. Wait, would that even happen? I don’t think we’ll ever stop if that was the case. But money dreaming aside, she’s happy as long as she has fun people by her side and gets to eat amazing food.
I picked Jessica because as a former res student, I know how dreadful it is to get up, get ready and rush to class (even if you live five minutes away). I’ve always been a sweats kind of person so I adore anyone who looks fabulous in class. I mean, if I wanted to look cute, I would leave my hair down, but Jessica always looks good. When asked to describe her own style, she explained that it’s all over the place which is funny because I definitely have a Type A personality. I’m also a big believer that clothes shouldn’t just be looked at, so I have such a soft spot for different fabrics and textures, especially velvet and brocade right now.

“People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.” – Abraham Lincoln
{Jessica’s favourite quote}
Around Toronto, Jessica’s favourite hot spot is Madison at Spadina. It’s the one place I can go with a huge group and not have to worry about not being able to find seats together. And Korean food at Yonge and Finch (i.e. Owl of Minerva) – extra spicy pork bone soup after a night out is oh so heavenly.
I find user names really interesting and the stories behind them are usually even better. So you know I had to end the interview by asking Jess, what’s up with Wild Tortoise?
I got the name from a random band name generator. I’m a huge Cat Stevens fan and “Wild World” is one of my favourite songs of all time. So I typed in “wild” and “wild tortoise” was one of the options. I found the imagery so hilarious and ironic that I’ve kept it ever since.
