While I personally didn’t “do up” New Years and opted for the casual jeans instead, I did take a little inspiration from the Balmain Spring/Summer 2009 collection and added two studded belts to my outfit.
I absolutely love every piece of this collection. Herve Leger dresses were the IT factors but Balmain has taken over.
Hope everyone had a great New Years! 2009 will be a good one.

I was browsing through one of my favourite media blogs, Nitro:licious and spotted a Toronto-based street wear label, Dark Horse that I knew I just had to share! The collection seems to be inspired by Paris and it’s Eiffel Tower with a whole lot of vibrant colours - love it! I really love the aqua leather jacket above, but check out some more of the fabulous collection below!

Okay, so maybe I shouldn’t have posted Lauren Conrad’s fall 08 collection right after H&M’s, but it would have sucked regardless. It just sucks even more after seeing H&M’s. And maybe I am a little harsh… I mean, she is new to the industry and has a lot of things to learn and the fact that she even has her own line in stores is impressive enough. Plus, she earns 75k an episode. I don’t even make $75 in a day - I make zip.
But seriously, good things aside. These overpriced items (220 for a LC dress, really?) are genetic and items I can easily find at trendy franchises like Le Chateau, Urban Behaviour and Sirens for less than half the price. Actually, I quite like Le Chateau and it offers more variety in terms of design and materials than LC’s. She tries to play up the collection with a huge sunflower print that’s pretty damn ugly and most of her pieces are offered in a bunch of colour variations. To give her credit, I like the first outfit (posted below). I love high-waisted skirts and I have a bathing suit top exactly like that. But overall, boringgggg collection.
P.S. Was it really necessary to pick a model that resembled LC? We already know what she looks like and the fact that “she” wears it won’t make us surpass the fact that her line sucks [ops!].
Take a peek at LC’s collection. The rest can be viewed on her site. What do you think of her collection?
